How to Download and Install WinSetView on Windows

Before You Download

WinSetView has no installer — it is a portable application that runs directly from a ZIP file. You do not need administrator rights, and nothing is installed to your system. You can even run it from a USB drive.

Step 1 — Download WinSetView

Step 2 — Extract the ZIP File

Right-click the downloaded ZIP file and select Extract All. Choose any location where you have write access — your Desktop, Documents folder, or a USB drive all work perfectly.

Step 3 — Close Open Applications

For best results, close all currently open applications before running WinSetView. Open apps — especially File Explorer windows — can prevent some folder view dialog types from updating correctly.

Step 4 — Run WinSetView.hta

Open the extracted folder and double-click WinSetView.hta to launch the application. Windows may show a security warning for HTA files — click Run to proceed. This is normal for portable HTA-based apps.
